RED CROSS WORK
(Received Sept. 27, 10.30 a.m.)
LONDON, Sept. 26
Messrs Courtauld and Thomson, Red Cross Commissioners in the Mediterranean, in an interview, stated that the Red Cross Society had six fully equipped organised depots in Egypt and the Eastern Mediterranean, and others at Gallipoli. The British organisation was in complete harmony with the Australasian, and each was doing its best to help the other. Red Cross ladies were indefatigable despite a temperature of 116 degrees in the shade.
The Red Cross Society was spending nearly £1000 daily.
