MELBOURNE, June 18. At the half yearly meeting of the Kauri Timber Co. the chairman stated that there had been a period of reduced output owing to the falling off in the building trads, but there were signs of an increase since the beginning of the year. He hoped to be able, even, with the present reduced output, to keep the bulk of the plant employed and so keep the staff together till the/ demand improved. The freight question, had been a serious factor in the export business. _ The directors, after careful consideration, unhesitatingly re^ commended the declaration of the usual interim dividend of 8 per cent, pev annum.' ,-
