A very enjoyable time was soent in •dancing, and about half-way through the evening the presentation was made, which consisted of a complete •shaving outfit.

On behalf of the company present Mr Linnell asked Mr Notman to accept their little present and their very best wishes also, expressing the .hope that after "he'd done his little bit" they would all have the pleasure •of welcoming him back safe and sound. Mr Notman replied in a few welf•chosen words, thanking his friends for their kind thoughtfulness, which had •come as a surprise to him. This concluded the chief item of the 'evening, and dancing was kept up till 12.30, when the party dispersed, each and everyone wishing their soldier friend good luck.
