It was previdusy stated that Private J, >V. bmith had been in the employment of Messrs Borthwick. of Waitara/ but he never lived in Waitara. He was with a Government survey party in Poverty Bay when he enlisted. His brother, Mr W. Smith, of Regent street desires us to make this correction as the relatives of the J. W b«uth r of Waitara, may be anxious about nim.
