GISBORNE'S PATRIOTIC CONTRIBUTIONS.
GISBORNE, May 19. In connection with the queen carnival and patriotic funds, the Cosmopolitan Club last night voted £1000 for the support of its candidate. The City Band had previously given up its share of the proceeds of the carnival, estimated at £1000. The sale of a Union Jack realised over £400.
