ORGAN RECITAL

On Wednesday and Thursday next the organ just completed for the Methodist Church by Mr Brake, of New Plymouth, will be formally opened by Dr Bradshaw, organist of Christchurch Cathedral. *As this event marks an important epoch in the history of the Church in Hawera, a short description of the organ will be of interest. It is a two-manual organ, with pedals, the latter having pneumatic action. On the manuals there are twelve speaking stops, and the equivalent of four on the pedals. There is also an effective tremulant. In all, there are 756 pipes in the organ. The range of stops will be admirably suited for recitals, as well as for choir accompaniment. With such a noted player as Dr Bradshaw, the most effective use will be made of the varieties of combinations and the utmost resources of the instrument will be fully displayed. No doubt there will be large congregations on Wednesday and Thursday.
