GIFT SALE AT OPUNAKE
The residents of Opunake draAV attention to a gift sale being held in the Loan and Mercantile Opunake yards to-morrow, 12th instant, in aid of the Belgian Relief Fund. Large. entries »of cattle, sheep, pigs and sundries have come forward. Stock will be sold in the yards at 1 p.m., and all sundries will be offered aftehvards in'the Town •Hall.
The pairs tournament projected for Thursday at Hawera bowling green did not take place, the weather being too -wet; it is proposed to hold it to-mor-j-ow afternoon. The Imperial Government have extended the offer to giA--e return fares
-to Europe, and provide outfit grant and iit allowance to all retired officers of DfchaL special reserve and ex-militia off jwho are medically fit for service the period of the war, as well as all ex-Imperial and territorial officers.
