SCHOOL GARDEN COMPETITIONS.
. The judging of the school gardens, m connection with the competition arranged by the Egmont A. and P. Association, has just been concluded. The grounds generally showed a marked improvement since last competition, and m several instances the whole grounds, have been remodelled. In most cases both teachers and children are taking " a very keen interest in the- work, ana the school grounds are, as a result, becoming beauty spots. The winning school, Mokoia, well deserved the honour awarded it, and gave evidence of most careful, painstaking work. The approach was charming, and everything about the school and grounds delightfully tidy. Some of the other schools were very close up in the competition, and it was a matter of considerable difficulty to place them in order. Details will appear in a future issue.**
