Tlie Wanganui Education Board met on Wednesday evening. Resignations.—The following resignations were accepted: G. C. Har re, sole teacher, Carnarvon; F. H. Gould, probationer, Feilding D.H.S.; L. McKenzie, assistant, Ohakune; B. A. Bryant, assistant, Kelvin Grove; M. Watkins, „ probationer, Patea. Appointments.—The following appointments were confirmed: Victoria Avenue (sth assistant), Miss J. M. Mountford; Crofton Side (assistant), Miss M. Milligan; Horopito (head teacher), Mrs M. Rhodes; Okaiawa (Ist assistant), Miss I. Woodruffe; Waverley (2nd assistant), Miss L. H. Prideaux; Kakaramea (head teacher), Mr E. H. Rogers; MakoAvhai (sole teacher), Mr W. F. Gilligan. School Sites—The Board decided to co-operate with the North Canterbury Education Board re- Government grants for purchase of school sites. Ararata. —Half cost up to £1 10s was granted for metalling. * Okaiawa.—lmprovements to the value of £16 Avere authorised, the Board to pay £8. Matapu.—A request for a Avell and j pump was referred to Mr Dixon. I A discussion took place on the point , of closing the schools of the district on j election day. Mr Dixon moved that I all the schools be closed. Mr Pirani moved as an amendment that the reI turning officers be asked, what schools are required.
