POLITICAL-NOTES.

Mr W. Morrison, the Liberal candidate for Patea, addressed the electors at Mokoia on Tuesday night. Owing to a misunderstanding, sufficient notice had not -been given of the meeting, but nevertheless a very- good number assembled. Mr Catchpole was voted to the chair, and. briefly introduced the candidate. Mr Morrison spoke for nearly two hours on the political questions, of the day to.an appreciative aiidieneey his speech being punctuated by frequent applause. At the" conclusion a unanimous vote of thanks and* confidence .was. carried by acclamation. Mr Morrison speaks at Ohangai to-night.
