PRETORIA, Oct. 19. General Hertzog has offered his ser* vices and expressed the hope that the .Government''will terminate the Maritz rebellion without bloodshed. General Botha replied that he is" not negotiating...-with. .Maritz. The rebellion could only be suppressed by force. He warned General Hertzog that public opinion demanded immediate public repudiation of Maritz's action by all mentioned in Maritz's ulti< matum. . „
