First Principle early assumed the command, but at the mile post Coat of Mail and Winstone ( were in front, with Uncle Sam last. Uncle Sam gradually improved the position, and, making a fine effort from the distance, 'finished full of running, winning by two and a half lengths. Time, 2.34f.
