Lovell Btar'er'e elected members of the AssociaHiion. ■ij Me Mills brought up the question as ■*d;the best method of securing entries ■for the show, and suggested that a ■ thorough canvass of the district should ■ije made by members owning motor ■..cars. He was sure if this were done ■that, the cart horse, farmer's utility ■horse, and pig classes, to say nothing ■of the dairy cow and dairy heifer ■ classes, could be made a feature of the l.chow. ■'- Several members • volunteered to I make a canvass as suggested. I On the motion of .Messrs Winks and jSymes, a committee consistiag of the W- President, Messrs A. S. Tonks, A. Hun- ■ ter and F. Mills was appointed to al- ■' -locate the district to the members ■^volunteering to do the canvassing. ■£ Mr H. Washer asked for the definiP'^tlon of the word "racing" as applied t vto the jumping competitions^ and. a P; resolution, was carried that horses in mr trainin^> or norses that have been I- graced six months previous to the show, I «hall be eligible to compete in the l^'4\impinE competitions. |V." Tne Ground Committee reported hav|>ing leased Lot 10, formerly occupied by k-'Mt Corrigan, to Mr W. Riossiter at the Ijeame rental. Consequent on a report tr^Er^^John Hicks as to the "imsatisl ss^€aotory condition of the ground and iL buildings, the committe© -resolved to p. tjarry into effect the resolution passed F ait the General Committee meeting on [{•"28th. February last recommending the [;-' Incoming committee to take steps to r provide a caretaker. X The President said that about 18 ap- \\ -plications had been received, but none r - of the applicants, though all good men, F' appeared to be quite suitable for the j- position. He had, however, been in i£j,' touch with on© man who might prove ip,".. Mr Treweek moved that the matter -. ..he left in the hands of the Ground /■- CJommittee to make an appointment. i, . From the experience which he had had &■ as secretary, he was satisfied that a j!' caretaker was really necessary. J t'; Some of the members doubted wheV ther they would, after the ■ first 18 cinonths, be sufficient work for a care- ;- -*■ taker to do.
