SY TELEGRAPH- ORBBB ASSOfUATrONr WELLINGTON, Qct. 18. When Mr. J. Payne (member for trey Lynn) was speaking in the House or .Representatives last night Mr G M. Thomson interjected that he disagreed with what Mr. Payne was saying. iVlr. Payne retorted characteristically. You don't know everything," he shouted. "You should prick that bubble and let your swelled head down a little." Mr. Thompson complained to the Chairman of Committees that Mr. Payne had called Mm a prig. Mr. Payne said that was' not the case. He repeated his remark. The Chairman: The honorable member denies that he made the remark. I must accept his assurance. The Prime Minister asked if it was in order to make such ah observation, and if* such language was to be tolerated in a New "Zealand Parliament. Someone complained of the expression "swelled head." The Chairman: I regret to say that I have heard-the expression frequently m the House. The Hon. R. H Rhoeds: It is a matter of taste?
