A gigantic battle between. Warsaw and the Dneister has commenced on a front of 280 miles. There are half a million Austro-Germans between Warsaw and Ivangorodj 700,000 from Ivangorod to the San river, and 450,000 "between the San and the Dneister. ThQ*. Russian forces are estimated at two and a half millions. PARIS, Oct. 16. Official. —Yesterday's progress is confirmed. ROME, Oct. 16. Having called out all between the ages of 20 and 47, the Austrian Government .is to-day summoning youths between 17 and 20 to provide a new army for a supreme effort against the Russians in Galicia and the Servians on the Drina. ' ■
