WESTPORT, Oct. 15. The cable annotmcing the escape of a Union Company officer from Antwerp probably refers to Mr A. Barr, a wellknown officer of the Union steamers. Mrs Barr was visiting her. parents at "Antwerp prior to the declaration of war and /'Mr Barr left later for Londpn, but was- only allowed to proceed to Antwerp conditionally signing on to assist in the defence of the city if necessary. He did so in order to reach his wife and family, and has now appar: ently*got back to London.
