RAMABAI MISSION

A very interesting and instructive lecture was given by Mrs Nalder last night in the Presbyterian Hall in connection with the Ramabai Mission to the child-widows of India. There was a very good attendance that well filled the hall, and the lady .lecturer listened to with close attention and evident interest. Mrs. Nalder recounted incidents from the life of the saintly woman Pundita Ramabai, showing the hardships of early years, her special qualification for the work she has now taken up and the great .sacrifices and unbounded faith, she showed in. carrying on her work on behalf ofthe child widows. Ramabai's complete dependence on the freewill offering of Christian people for money to carry on- her charities and Christian activities was dwelt on, and it was shown how her faith was justified. A substantial offering was given by last night's meeting, and at the close several books descriptive of the mission were sold. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mrs. Nalder for her address. The Rev. J. R. Shore, prer sided, and the singing was. enhanced by the help of a combined choir.
