WELLINGTON, Oct. 12. - The steamer Tarawera, which left, Na~ ' pier this afternoon for Wellington^ will . make a detour seaward in an endeavor * to locate the disabled Kini. The Warrimoo, which left here this evening for Napier, will also steer a wide course, * with the same object. The following telegram was received * by the Chief Postmaster, Wellington, this evening from the postmaster at ' -. Karamea:—"The Mangapapa went ashore on the North Spit and had tobe hurriedly abandoned at high water. At 2 p.m. the engine room was flooded. The crew is safe. The ressel is likely to become a total wreck."
