LONDON, May 31. . Captain Kendall bade* Mr Hayes, the purser, farewell on the bridge, when ■ the water was lapping their feet, and gave a passenger his belt. Mr Hayes and Captain Kendall jumped together. Hayes was soon picked up, and Kendall was found later ■clinging to wreckage. Hundreds were drowned in their i sleep. Sir Seton Kerr insisted on Mr DarJing, of Shanghai, taking his belt, and Darling was saved. ~
