TUG-OF-WAR.

FIRST DRAWINGS

Great interest is being taken in the tug-of-war to be held at the Winter Show Buildings from next Monday and -during race week. The first drawing of pulls resulted as follows:— Monday.—-Te Popo v. Haloombe, "JKakaramea v. Mokoia, Mangatoki I. v. McGuinness. (Two of the losing teams -will also pull off). Each team will have two losses before It retires.

Tuesday.—Mangatoki v. Whangamo•inona, Austin Road v. Hone Pinama, Tire Brigade v. Matapu. Also two losing pulls. Kaponga Hibernians will Tneet a t-eam to be drawn on Monday.
