LONDON WOOL SALES
BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. (Received April 29, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 28. The wool sales opened firm at par and up to a o per cent, advance. There is a good seloction of crossbreds, but few merinos.
WELLINGTON, April 2tf. The High Commissioner's market report,, dsited London, April 28, states that the wool sales have commencod. There is a large attendance, including American representatives. Competition is strong for merinos and fine crossbreds. All grades average from par to £d dearer. Medium to coarse crossbreds of all grades are very firm at closing rates of last sales. One hundred and thirty thousand bales of New Zealand wool have been catalogued.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd , have received the following cablegram from their London office: There was a full attendance at the opening of the sales to-day, competition by Home, Continental and American buyers being active, and prices as compared with the close of preceding series ruled par to 5 per cent, higher for merino and fine crossbred. Market firm for others.
