DOMINION POLITICS.

ROWDY MEETING AT WAIHI

BY TELEGKAPH —PItESS ASSOCIATION. WAIHI, April 25. Mr McCombs M.P. for .Lyttelton, and the Social Democratic Party's representative, attempted to give a political address in the Miners' Hall last evening. The Mayor presided. The meeting inside was sparsely attended, while a crowd of Arbitrationists remained outside. Mr McCombs invited them in, but was met with cries: "We don't want .you; you're the representative of the Red Federation. We refuse to go into that hall; get another hall." Later, they went in and created a disturbance by stamping with their feet. The appeals of the chairman for fair play Mere resultless. The speaker denounced their cowardly attitude, and ultimately the police were called upon at his request. Later, two men quietly left the building, and after this the Arbitrationists adopted different tactics and the utterances of the speaker were greeted with loud ironical applause. Mr McCombes could make little headway owing to the noise, and when desparaging references were made to the Premier, the Government, and the Arbitration Act, the section opposed to the speaker gave free expression to their disapproval.
