S.M. COURT, (Before A. Crooke, Esq., S.M.) THURSDAY, APRIL 23. Civil 1 Cases.—Judgment by default was given in the following cases, with Court costs and solicitor's fee added: C. Lisle y. W. McLeod, claim £10. Maungu Bishop v. Mere Peri, claim £1. Same v. Poae Rana, claim £3. G'eo. W. Rogers v, W. Peters, claim £6 14s 6d. The case of C. Cantle v. F. Boardman, claim £1 14s 6d, was adjourned until next Court day. Judgment Summons.—J. H. Richardson v. R. W. Still, claim £4 14s 6d; order made for payment of amount before end of the present month. Andrew Clarke v. David Duffy, claim £5: order made for payment within fourteen days. Henry Berry and Co. v. VV. H. Black; adjourned to allow of statement of position being: filed Tioko v. G. P; Waru, claim £3 17s 6d: no order made. C. Cantle v. C. Geary, claim £3; payment ordered to be made within fourteen days. Same v. Hakana was adjourned until next Court day. Territorial Cases.—Convictions with costs added were entered up against Claude Thomas and: David Affleck for failure to attend parades in accordance with the law. This was all the business. ANNUAL SOCIAL. The popularity of the Opunake Football Club's annual social was further demonstrated by the large number of dancers who assembled at the Town Hall on Wednesday night. Representatives of neighboring clubs were also present, and a most enjoyable time was spent by all. Excellent music was supfe d. by/Messrs X- OanneU (piano) and Wyflie (cornet), and the floor was in ; first-class order for dancing. During the supper adjournment Mrs Hammond and Miss Callaghan graciously supplied extras. , The thanks of the local footBailers is due to the members of the ladies' committee, who worked most assiduously to make the social a success. POLICE. Constable Clouston left Opunake yesterday for his annual leave of absence During his absence Constable Kelly will be in charge of the station.
