Massey the Prime Minister, sent the following cable to the Premier of New South VV ales regarding the railway disaster : On behalf of the Government and people of New Zealand, I desire to express our deep regret at the railway calamity which has occurred in your State, and also offer our sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives and friends of the sufferers.—W.
