(Fkok Ottr Own Correspondent.) The bazaar was again well attended last night. A tug-of-war between the lire Brigade and the Foresters created considerable interest, and was won by. the Foresters. To-night there ••willVDe-- more .. tuga^f-war and lazy stick/ pulling.. There are a number' of visitors to the town, mostly to attend ifae carnival,, which promises to be equally as attractive as it has been in previous years. In the chopping events there ■will, be some of the best axemen competing, and there will no doubt be some very interesting and exciting finishes. The cycling events will also be well contested, there being & number of good nder* competing. Everybody is busy with the, usual Qhristmas preparations, and looking forward for the season's festivities. Some of the business men have gone in for decoratiiig- m front of their premises, -but it i§. not general. Mr Andrew. McLeoa underwent an operation for appendicitis last night, and this morning Wjs as well as might be expected. '■■'.-
