The awards mad£ by the Arbitration Court ;in the general laborers' dispute provide that men \ working for local bodies shall have a 47 hours' week in tunnel work, hours not to exceed 8 per day, with half-hour for crib time, and in wet places or foul air hours not to "exceed (six. , The minimum wages shall be: Laborers emploj'ed in tunnel or in trenches (depth of 6ft or over) Is 3d per hour; laborers employed in concrete work, pick and "shovel work, sewer work, kerbing and channelling work; laying and cleaning drains, asphalt and tar work, and all other work of same, kind, Is 2d per hour; overtime io be naid at the rate of time and a quarter for the first hour and ,time ancTa half afterwards; all work done on Saturday' afternoon to be paid for at the rate of time-and a half. For | laborers -employea in •■• connection with building operations a 44 hours' week is provided for. v The following shall be the miiiimum wage: Workers in charge of derricks or employed in hod carrying, scaffolding or wheeling bricks on scaffold.
