Sir James Mills ; announced this morning,. at tne statutory meeting of .shareholders of the Union Company, i;hat, as it will be necessary for bim to proceed to England early in the year, he proposes to relinquish the position of managing director at -the «nd'of December. He also announced -that Mr Holdswprth had been appointed managing "director as from January 1, Sir James Mills will continue ■to occupy.a seat on the board and retain the cnairmanship for the present.
