affirmed the necessity of imperial preference. Some speakers vigorously denounced the alleged boycotting of tariff reform in Speeches and by some Unionist newspapers. , ■ Mr Austen Chamberlain, referring to Home Rule rumors, said he was in „ the habit of dining with half the Cabinet, but *ras not carrying on private negotiations. If Mj Asquith wanted a settlement he should address Mr Bonar law. .„.. _
