GREYMOUTH, Dec. 15. Henry Coppersmith, Mayor of Runanga, R. J. Wearne, James O'Brien, and Christopher 'Rogers, all prominent Federationists and members of the. Strike Couiihitteej were charged in the Magistrate's Court with, obstructing Mawhere quay by'"causing' a crowd to collect on December 6. -Defendants pleaded not guilty. ; Inspector Phair said that defendants placed a box near the railway line and addressed a crowd on strike matters. They -refused to desist when asked1 to do so by. the po^lice. Convictions were recorded, and a/me of £3 in each;case was imposed.
