THE LEEDS STRIKE
LONDON, Dec. 15. The streets at Leeds are unswept and unlit. Many churches have dispensed "with evening service. Civilians are maintaining a limited gas supply and an effective electric tramways service in the day time. The strikers tnreaten "to block the coal supplies. The municipal corporation contends that the strikers are ,well paid, the gas"irorkers,' who are in the majority, rereiving 25s to 41s a week, street clean-«*t-s 25s to 34s f electricity workers 27s to. 395, and highway employees 26s to 395.
