MYSTERIOUS MESSAGE.

1 NEW YORK, Dec, 8. Wireless reports have been received at Norfolk. West Virginia, stating that the steamer Rio Grande caught fire at sea, and that the ipassengers were transferred to the steamer Swanmore. llie latter's crew extinguished the fire and re-transferred the passengers. Mys- • sn^ouds the message as no ship called the Rio Grande is registered, except a coasting vessel which does not carry passengers.
