MELBOURNE, Nov. 15. Mr J. Hill, chairman of the Geelong Harbor Trust, received a leter from West Australia, reading as follows"I need £500. Unless lodged at the General Post; Office, Melbourne, by next Tuesday, I airi going to shoot you. I want the money for clothing, medical assistance, and' to help me generally. If given a chance I shall distinguish myself as one of the greatest statesmea of modern times." MiHill informed the police, who arrested a young man on his arrival from We&t Australia by steamer. His effects contained a revolver and 50 cartridges.
