On Saturday morning a special reducing sale will commence at the Economic, Hawera. Householders are requested by Mr Spence, the proprietor, to come and inspect his prices. A very heavy hailstorm was experienced in Hawera between one and two o'clock on Thursday afternoon. The downpour, which lasted about ten minutes, was preceded by several loud claps of thunder. Just after the heavy downpour of rain this afternoon, two Maoris adjourned to the back yard of business premises in Hawera to settle a dispute. The engagement was not a lengthy one. The heavier of the two knocked his opponent into a pool of water and mud, and then quietly sat on him. Another lound may be decided in Court.
