SEPTEMBER EXAMINATIONS
BT TELEGRAPH—PKEBS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Oct. 7. The September examination for diplomas and licenses for surveyors throughout the States of the Commonwealth of Australia were held in the various centres during last week. The New Zealand Examination Board comprised Messrs James Mackenzie, Sur-veyor-General (Wellington, chairman), Thomas Humphries (Wellington) H. Sladden (Wellington), J. W. Harrison (Auckland), E. H. Wilmot "(Otago), and C.-E. Adams (Wellington). The territorial sphere over which this examination operates includes as far north as New Guinea, coming down to and including New Zealand in the south. For this Dominion twenty-one students presented themselves, six of whom sat for the. first time. Of the latter, those who, passed in their order of merit were as follow: Mr P. V. Norman (Hamilton), Mr B. C. A. McCabe (Lands and Survey Department. Nelson), Mr C. W. Foster (Wellington), Mr J. Mackay (Wellington), Mr A. T. Leeds (Lands and Survey Department, Auckland), subject to his completing certain plans. With regard to the fifteen candidates who sat on previous occasions 2 the following completed their examination in the order^ of merit: Messrs E. V. Blake (Lands and Survey Department, Auckland), S. T. Seddon (Lands and Survey Department, Wellington), H. L. Primrose (Lands and Survey Department, Wellington), C. K. Robinson (Stratford), H. P. Spencer (Auckland), G. A. Hathaway (Lands and Survey Department, Auckland), W. S. Thomson (Lands and Survey Department, Napier), O. F. Martin (Wellington).
