Times—Sydney Sun Special Cables. LONDON, Sept. 3. The Times, in a special article insisting on the failure of trades unionism, says that between 1902 and 1906 eleven million working days were lost by strikes in Great Britain. In 1912 forty millions were lost, while the' working conditions became harsher and harder. The workers were not only being speeded up by the employers, but were also socially screwed down by the new governing classes. With trades unionism pure and simple workers went ahead. "With* political trades unionism they were going backward. * •
