Alarmed at the growth of the Australian meat trade the Department of Agriculture has issued an order that every piece of meat imported from Australia must be examined -l»y the local Inspectors. Heretofore shipments have !been passe_ on proof being furnished, of examination of a few specimens taken r tit random. The new order means a delay of three days while the examination is proceeding, thus adding considerably 't -> the cost of unloading. "The'Ventura has arrived at San "Francisco with a cargo of 1200 packages of :meat.
