The first match of the Southern Division was played on Monday, 16th mst., when Hawera A met Manaia ot Manaia, the former winning by 6 goals to 2. The game in the first spell was very uninteresting, owing to the lack of combination on both sides. Goals were scored in the first half by Nodder, McNiven and Sage, and for Manaia by Grubb. In the second spett the Hawera forwards showed much better combination and kept the ball in their opponents' territory for the greater part of the spell, goals beine scored by Catran (2), and Sage. From a corner hit S. Cameron (Manaia) found the net. The game ended with the score as above. Mr D. Kvan was referee for the match. The following teams will represent, Ivaponga A v.
