Canterbury, 6id: seconds, heavy weight, 4d to s|d-; other than Canterbury, unaltered. __Beef: The market is firm. New Zealand, hinds, 3|d; fores, 3£d. Chilled supplies are decreasing and prices are firmer—hinds '4fd, fores 3£d. River Plate shipments received during the month of May, 1913, were-: London, mutton 55 ,532 carcases, lamb 55,500 carcases; 'Liverpool, 105,217 and 72,680; Hull, 5317 and nil; ' Southampton. 2443 and 300; Newcastle, 6853 carcases mutton. Totals: Mutton 175,362. lamb 128,401. For May 1912, the totals were 136,475 and 31,i.60. Butter: The market is rather quiet, with good demand for choicest New Zealand and Australian. All prices have declined, excepting for Danish Choicest New Zealand, 113s; Danish, 116s 6d; Australian, 105s; Siberian 100s. :.-.■■■'•. Cheese: Stocks are sufficient for the demand, which is very fair, and prices have been maintained. There is no change in prices.
