WINDING UP A LAND COMPANY.
AUCKLAND, June 15. Mr Justice CJooper dealt with the application by R. L. Ziman, on behalf of one of the creditors (Buchanan, Christchurch) in the Belmont Land Co., Ltd. His Honor remarked that the company was in a parlous condition, and the mortgagee was. entitled to exercise his power of sale within a few days. The company had had plenty of time to arrange its finances, but had been I unable to do so, and regarded from the most favorable point of view, it was insolvent. In the circumstances, seeing the majority of creditors (in value) desired the winding up, the court ought to order that the -estate be wound up. ''■ '■'c sooner the officii! assignee had charge of the estate the better. An order was made accordingly.
