On Friday, June 6, at my Waiwakaiho yards, there was a small entry, of which a fair majority was sold as follows: Weaner heifers £1 13s, store cows £1 10s to £3 2s 6d, forward cows £4 5s to £4 15s, fat cows (small) £o lis, in-calf heifers £4 4s 6d to £4 7s 6d, springing heifers £6 10s to £6 17s 6d, empty heifers £3 8s; a line of seven dairy cows, spring caivers, averaged £7 12s 6d; dairy cows, guaranteed sound, at from £2 Kis to £6 ss; Jersey heifer, calved, £8; f.m. ewes 9s to 10s 6d, lambs 9s. On Monday at. Toko, .15-months steers realised £3, store cows £2 17s. ' 6d, colored weaner heifers £2 10s, small fat steers, £0. 3s, fat ewes Vis, la>nbs (small) 6s. -..'•'.'
At Stratford on Tuesday, 10th 'inst., .owing to the very:'trough weather. <1 had only a small yarding with a good attendance of the public.'. Bidding throughout for most.classes was slack, although most of the yarding was cleared at the hammer or privately. A good number of in-calf heifers wese yarded, sales of these being made at prices in favor of the buyers. Any fat cows offered with very keen competition. Prices realised were: Colored weaner heifers £2 12s 6d, grades £1.14s 20-nlonths in-calf Jersey heifers (n£ce lines) £5 10s to £5 12s 6d, 20----mpnths in-calf grade heifers £3 4s 6d to £4 9s Od, empty heifers £3 10s 6d to- £6 ..'l2s 6d, store cows £1 to £3 7s 6d, forward cows £4 12s 6d to £4. 18s 6a, dairy cows £6 12s 6d, guaranteed cows £5, springing heifers £6 ,10s, fat cows (small) £5 18s. 15 to 20-months steers £3 7s 6d, small lambs 6s 6d, empty forward ewes 10s lid.
At Stony River on Wednesday there was a small entry, sales being made as follows:—Store oows, £2 17s to £4 7s 6d; $T5 months steers, £3; springing heifers, £7 10s 6d to £7 15s; lambs, 10s 3d; &' or 3 extra good pens of Jersey heifers in calf, all good colors, quiet and showing well forward, sold exceptionally wofrat £7 10s to £9 2s, the latter being especially choice. Clearing Sale. —On Friday last at Midhirs't for Mrs C. M. Luders' sale there was a very large attendance with good competition for the dairy cows, which averaged about £8 10s; best cows showing well forward, sold at from £9 to £11 15s; others, not quite so forward, sold from £6 15s to £8 10s; late calvers, £4 os to £6 ss; weaner heifers, £1 18s 6d; weaner steers, £1 4s 6d; Jersey bulls, £3 4s 6d; gelding, £23; mare, £22 10s; milk cart, £11 10s; dog cart, £6' 15s; mower, £8 ss; aged gelding, £4' ss.
