THE MONEY MARKET.
The Ntsw Zealand Trade Review of June 12 says.— The local money market shows very little sign of any tendency to ease, anil the supply of funds available for investment of ail kinds remains very restricted. The volume of our exports has been very well maintained so. far, and the prices realised are generally very satisfactory. For the year to 31st March the total of exports constituted a recordj the increase over the previous year being £3,640.000. For the two months si-ice then there is a further increase of £39,000, and the funds from the realisation of these exports are coming in Lo assist the money marker. On the other hand s our imports' are still maintaining a very high level which doos not show any sign of reduction, and this means caik on .the funds ■of the banks for financing them. ,< The" ever increasing^..trade of the Dominion requires increased "capital* for all the.various trades and enterprises, and coii-; statutes a continual'call on the genera!
