PERSONAL STEMS.

A Danedin press wire reports the death of ex-Sergeant Conn, aged 69, who was one of the pioneers of the West Coast and worked the next tent to the late Mr Seddon. Deceased served as police officer in various parts i cue Dominion, and retired four years ago under the age limit.

With sincere regret we record the death of Mrs R. B. Douglas, of Hawera. Some few weeks ago she was stricken with a very severe illness, and though at one time it appeared she might pull through, she took a very bad turn last week, and passed away on Sunday afternoon. Mrs Douglas was the eldest daughter of Mr A. G. Brett, formerly Town Clerk of Hawera, and was a great favorite in Hawera and district. Very genuine sympathy will be felt for her husband in his time of sorrow. As will be remembered, they were married only a few months ago.
