PRISON ESCAPEE RECAPTURED.

WELLINGTON, May 19. John Fairley, alias Wilson, one of the prisoners who escaped .from Palmerston North, gaol a fortnight, ago, has been recaptured in a lodging-house" in Courtenay place. After escaping, Fairley stayed four days at Palmerston, and finally left on foot. He walked across the country, sleeping under haystacks. On Saturday he took the train at Tokomaru to Wellington. He was well dressed when captured.
