WELLINGTON, April 24. In the matter of the introduction of office mechanical appliances into Government Departments, an important development is taking pla?e with the object of bringing the practices now adopted in Government Departments more in accord with the later ideas of modern office administration. Miss A. C. Hedley, of the accountants branch of the Postmaster-General's Department of the Commonwealth of Australia, is instructor-demonstrator, and she haa commenced her dutie& in Wellington Prior to her appointment Miss Hedlev had _ completed the organisation of special classes, and given a course of instruction and conducted examinatrrn's of the use of mechanical appliances at Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth. and Hobart. Miss Hedley is to give instruction in the u?e of the adding and listing machines to classes of girK in the public service throughout New Zealand.
