At the weekly sale of stock at Ad-l dington stockryards on Wednesday there was fine weather, and an averagV attendance of farmers and buyers. There was a representative yarding of all classes of stock, and in no case was the entry in excess of requirements. There was a slight increase in the stoi'i and fat sheep sections, and a decrease in lambs, but otherwise the yarding was about equal to that of the previous, market. . " ; •
Bat cattle: There was no quotable' change in the value of beef, which sold * at prices ranging from 26s to 33s per 1001b. Steers made £10 5e to £16'; extra to £19 10s, the last-mentioned pnce being obtained for a line of four-year-olds, which took first honors in this class at the Metropolitan show; heifers, £7 5s to £10 2s tid; and cows, £5 l()s to £9; extra to £10 5a
Fafc calves: Prices ranged from 8s to 60s, the latter price being paid for an exceptionally well-finished calf.
Fat lambs: The range of prices was as" follows: Best lambs, 16s 6d to 20s: lighter sorts, 15s 6d to 16s 3d. A peii • of small culls only realised 8s 3d. Store sheep: Shorn two and four tooth wethers, in forward condition, made 17e to 17s Id; ewe hoggets (in wool), 22s lOd to 23s Id; good wether hoggets (in wool), 225; cull crossbred ewes (in wool) mixed ages, 13s Id to 14s 3d; merino wethers (in wool), 9s 7d; and merinol ewes, 9s.
Fat sheep: The range of prices was: Prime woolly wethers, 24s 5d to 29s 3d; others, 14s lOd to 24s y woolly ewes, 21s 4d to 26s 3d; woolly hoggets, 23s 9d; woolly merino wethers, 19s lid to S6s 6d; prime shorn wethers, 19s to 23s fd; lighter. 16s 7d to 18s 6d; prime shorn ewes, 18s to 225; others, 14s 2d to 17s Od; shorn merino wethers, 14s 9d to 15s 3d.
Dairy cows: Fifteen to eighteenmonth stores brought £3 7s to £4 ss; two-year heifers, £5 to £5 6s; threeyear steers, £7 ss; three-year heifers, £5 10s to £6 3s; and cows £2 to £G.
Store . pigs: Large stores, including large lines from Kaikaura, realised 42s to 495; medium, 32s t0,405; and small -sorts, 21e to 30s. Sows in pigs brought to £4 55., whilst weanevs realised 15s to 255, the latter price being obtained for exceptionally good half-bred Tamivorths. There was a fair yarding of fat pigs," which, in most cases, were well finished. Competition was free, and prices were unchanged since the previous sale. Choppers realised £3 3s to £6 12s 6d; heavy baooners, 65s to 70s; and lighter pigs. 53s to 60s (equal to 5Jd to 6£d per lb.). Heavy porkers brought 45s to 50s; and lighter sorts 36s to 44s (equivalent to s|d to 6d per lb.).
