(To the Editor.) - n £ lr>~~Throusk-the medium of v,.. Jr columns permit me to ask why cL W Plymouth club has been debarred mi ffl^K?* 6 competltion fm ie \-S e p»Sent lv our ""Nation fee ;, O m iLvfT lth some time a s°' *»* < y a tew daj-s r.go a match between i.c Kaponga club and ourselves had u-en arranged. We had our railway an-a«4-mente made, and everything proSs& | for the trip, when-we received av,re to say that the match was off Late? !*-e had a letter, not concise by ™ means to say that New Plymouth S not allowed to play, because we \**l not affiliated. I would like to draw whirl' teflo^ Sil "' "tO ™* which make the action of the TJiron rather remarkable: 1. That in previous years our actionveaV a PVeCIS3 precedent of t}ie present 2. That the Union received our 4el*gates, giving them voice and vote as representatives of the' New Plymouth +3i P^J^ U, nion had chosen men to defend laranaki's football reputation from a team that they now lay was debarred by lack of. affiliation. Can you reconcile the obvious eontiaste? This subject, sir, has caus»d considerable critical comment, and also has disturbed the equanimity of New llymouth players and supporters 1, therefore, write merely to an opnortunity to any of those in authority to fully elucidate the matter. I( ailing that, the action of New Plymouth m future regarding their association with the Union mentioned may be drastic. V „. ENQUIRER. ■New Plymouth, August 30.
