Mr Roosevelt, in a letter to the chairman of the Committee investigating campaign contributions, stated that Senator Penrose's statement with regard to Archbold's support was an unqualified falsehood. Senator Pen rose was merely comparable to a graft policeman and ought to be removed from the Senate.
