TOTALISATOR PERMIT REFUSED

Tit" secretary of the Eginont-Wanga-nui Hunt has received a communication from the Minister of Internal Affairs in reference to the application for a totaiisator permit for the forthcoming Hunt Steenlechase meeting:—

"Dear Sir,- —Further to my letter of July 15 regarding: the Efimont-Wanga-mii Hunt's application for a totaiisntor permit, as promised I "brought the matter under the notice of the Hon. the Minister of Internal Affairs. fnd have now received a reply from him to the effect that he regrets that :t is impossible to re-onen the matter cf totalisator licenses for the ensuing year. 1 am sorry I am unable to forward a more favorable renlv to the rerjvuvst contained in vouv letter.—Yours faithfull. W. H. Herries."

The secretary also has to acknon--Wlae with thanks the receipt of a ehecme from Mr Frank Moore, of Bushy Park, to purchase a trophy for the vinner of ,the hack hurdle race.
