ANOTHER FATALITY.

NEW YORK, July 14

Victor Smith, an amateur airman, was killed in the Palo Alto district. His aeroplane was caught in a gust of wind, smd dashed to the earth. Smith held the world's amateur aviation speed record.

It has been ascertained that the explosion on the airship Akron, by which the two Vaninian brothers and three -others lost their lives, was due to faulty .•construction, allowing the gas to escape over the engine exhaust.
