Mr J. H. Fowler, Government Auditor for Nelson and Westland Provinces,, has received notice of his removal ta New Plymouth. He is expected to take up his duties in the North Island shortly. Mr Fowler (the Grey River Argussays) has been a most obliging officer, and has gained many friends, who will be sorry to lose him, but who will be pleased on account of his advancement in the service.

At an enthusiastic meeting of the Legion of Frontiersmei at Auckland on Thursday, the Prime Minister (Mr W. F. Massey) was elected Hon. Commandant of the Auckland district.
